 ULTIMATE STREET RULES 

 

 

 CHASSIS & TIRES:

1.     29.5 x 10.5 max. sidewall designation, no “W”s allowed. Hoosier part                               #18192D05 not allowed.

2.     295/65 max. size drag radial.  315 not allowed.

3.     Stock front & rear suspension with bolt-on traction devices only. Aftermarket front/rear suspension components, K-member OK but must bolt-in O.E.M. locations. Weld-in anti-roll devices OK. Coil over shocks OK.  Aftermarket rack and pinion OK.

4.      Ladder bars are allowed with 50 lb. penaltyNo aftermarket racing 4-links allowed. 

5.     Entire OEM frame rails must be in stock location. Notching the outer sections of the rear frame rails ok. Mini-tubs ok.

6.     Wheelie bars allowed.

BODY:

1.     Firewall must be retained in stock location. Notching for distributor clearance OK. May be “smoothed” for appearances.

2.     Fiberglass body components & Lexan windows ok. No one-piece nose clips. Stock bodylines must be retained.

3.     Any style hood scoop OK. Scoop must not protrude above halfway position on windshield.

4.     Must have full interior (door panels, stock type dash, carpet, driver & pass. front seats). Must have rear seat or carpeted rear seat area.

5.     Must have functional head lamps & tail lights.

6.     Max 15” Rear wing measured from leading edge or any OEM spoiler.

ENGINE/TRANS :                                     

1.      Max. 650 cid. Aftermarket Ford big block & aftermarket big block tall decks, add 150 lbs.    

           

2.     Muffler(s) required for all entries. No collector inserts. Collector mufflers ok.

3.     Engine must be in stock location. Solid mounts & motor plates ok.

4.      Any commercially available cast aluminum intake.

5.      Any single carburetor.       

6.      No sheet metal intakes or tunnel rams allowed.

7.      Any OEM intake OK. 

8.     Max single 90mm throttle body.

9.     Any big block head with stock OEM port layout configuration & valve angles, (i.e. no Big Chiefs, C460’s, 18 deg, etc.). Small block can run any in-line valve head. nitrous small block Yates & SB2  heads allowed @  +100 lbs (No Canted valve or Yates style heads on forced induction entries.)

10. Race gas only. No alcohol

11.                        Any OEM style transmission. No Bruno/Lenco or clutchless type transmissions allowed.

POWER ADDERS:

1.      N20:  Any Single stage Fogger or Single stage Plate only. Additional systems must be disconnected & capped-off.   Progressive controllers & timers OK.

2.      Turbo: Small block only, max 88 MM turbo inlet. Air to liquid intercooler allowed. Measurement will be a 1/16th of an inch away from the compressor wheel. If it measures more that 88 MM or if the leading edge is more than a 1/16th away from the compressor wheel then the turbo is illegal. NOTE: Turbo inlet must be accessible for size verification. No exceptions

3.     Supercharger: Small block only, single F2 or D3 supercharger air to air or single F1 with water/air.

WEIGHT BREAKS:

            Small block: 3050.  Big block: 3300.  BOP/Yates/SB2: 3200.

            Turbo/Supercharged: 3400.                

Ladder bar cars add 50 lbs.

Big block Aftermarket Chevy-Ford/Tall decks add 150 lbs.

GENERAL RULES FOR ULTIMATE STREET CLASS

1.       All races will be run on a .400 Pro-Tree. Courtesy and 7 sec.  staging will be in effect.  All cars must stage on their own power. Deep staging is not allowed.

2.       Winners of elimination runs must weigh after each round. If scales are passed or the car is underweight, the competitor will be disqualified.

3.       Rules of the appropriate sanctioning body (NHRA/IHRA) will be in effect depending on the host track. This includes, but is not limited to, up to date driver’s license, chassis certification, seat belts, etc.

4.       There will be a $50.00 contest fee attached to any alleged rule violation. If the violation is founded, the fee will be refunded; otherwise the fee will be forfeited.

5.       Rules published on the M.I.R. website are the official rules and are subject to revisions at the discretion of the M.I.R. committee. Any revisions will be posted on the M.I.R. web site within 3 days.

6.       All drivers, pit crew and family members will be expected to act in a professional manner. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that all adhere to this rule. Any violation can result in disqualification, loss of entry fees, and possible banning from future races.

7.       A racer may be an entrant in only one class at any given race.

8.       Under no circumstances are you to pull to the line without proper safety gear in place. This means EVERYTHING. Gloves, Helmet, jacket, pants, harnesses, etc. This is for your own safety.

9.       No infrared "cheating" devices are allowed on ANY car running in M.I.R. This means ANYTHING that hangs from the front of the car in front of the tires, below the front of the car in front of the tires - or any thing that can trip the beams at the end of the track .
